Fundamental experimental research in atomic physics, investigating
the role of electron correlation in atomic and molecular systems,
ion-atom collisions, diagnostics of discharge and fusion plasmas,
and high-resolution atomic and molecular photoionization. Recent
work on the search for quantum chaos; photoionization of ions; and
measurement of femtosecond lifetimes in the energy domain. Experience
with x-ray monochromators and applications of sychrotron radiation.
