All meeting participants desiring accommodations should make their own arrangements. For the convenience of meeting attendees, a block of ten rooms has been reserved at the UC Berkeley Men's Faculty Club for November 20 & 21. Please note that you will need to phone the hotel directly and provide payment information to guarantee your room. When calling, please mention you are attending the Daniel Chemla 65th Birthday Celebration at the Berkeley Lab. The deadline to reserve a room is Monday, November 14, 2005.

Weather

 
 
In November, the weather is usually in the mid 60s Fahrenheit (low 20s Celsius) during the day and will drop 10F/6 C degrees in the evenings. Comfortable clothing is suggested and you should bring a sweater or light jacket.

Emergency medical situations can be handled at nearby hospitals. However, these services will be charged to the individual and it is recommended that foreign visitors investigate the possibility of obtaining medical insurance prior to arrival in the United States.
